Wild Celery is the common name of Apium graveolens species, from Umbelliferae family.

Features of Wild Celery

Height to 12-36 inches. Spread to 6-12 inches. Zone 7-9. Biennial.

Known also as smallage, remains of this plant were reportedly found in Egyptian tombs.

With a flavour much stronger than the cultivated variety, wild celery is most often used as a flavouring to soups and stews rather than being consumed raw.

The herb has also been used medicinally as a remedy for reducing blood pressure and easing indigestion.

Salad
Add small amount of chopped leaves to salad. (Use leaf)
